Iceland, June 2014, Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) trip.
Perlan (The Pearl) is a landmark building in Reykjavík. It is a glass dome structure set on six hot water storage tanks on top of the Öskjuhlíð hill overlooking Reykjavik. The hot water storage tanks have been there for decades. In 1991 the tanks were updated and the hemispherical structure placed on top. It houses a revolving restaurant plus a cafeteria, souvenir shop, and open space for exhibitions and concerts. There is a large outdoor observation deck- where I took these pictures.
