Japan OAT Trip, Nov 2014. Kyoto. We travel to Kameoka(?), a village in the countryside near Kyoto, where we see a fresh farm organic market and then go to a farm where we make and eat Onigiri, a kind of rolled triangular
shaped rice cake filled with some herbs and veg and covered with dried nori (seaweed). It was quite
good. The we had a very hearty hot stockpot beefy meal- I had seconds! We also had fresh honey
from a local beekeeper and lots of hot tea. Then we interacted with the farm family by asking them
questions about their farm. Then they took us on a walk around their little "village". In the same bldg. where the mkt was there was some sort of cooking/baking class going on for kids.
